About Your Beauty Sleep
January 20th, 2012 by adminAccording to Swedish researchers , getting your beauty sleep isn’t just a tall tale . There is a surprising tie between the hours of nighttime rest you get, and your physical appearance . Those who are sleep deprived appear unhappy, less chipper, and less “beautiful” than those who have claimed a good night of rest. “Why is Sleeping Beauty so beautiful? Is it because she sleeps a lot?” When Swedish researcher John Axelsson was asked this question by his daughter, he chose to do a study. This study, and many other studies have found very surprising ties between a lack of sleep and many unhealthy challenges . Through time, there have been many studies linking poor sleep to depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and surprisingly, obesity. A study in 2008 brought to light that 50 to 70 million Americans struggle with this fast growing problem of sleep loss or sleep disorders. The scarier statistic is that the number of individuals averaging six hours of sleep or less is increasing . With that said, why don’t Americans get more sleep? Are our activities of each day so important that we take it out on our health day after day? You decide .
